BRUNA’S BLOG

Dear friends and family,

We pray this finds you and your family well.  We want to thank you for your continued support, prayers and love. We don’t know how we would be able to go through our days without your prayers and support.

The political situations have deteriorated in Haiti. The country is basically shut down. Government offices and a lot of businesses are not open in most cities. Food and fuel shortages have increased tremendously throughout the country. A gallon of gasoline costs about $25.00 in many parts of the country.  On top of all that, there are daily protests and barricades everywhere.  A big part of the Haitian population has lost hope.

Our family and ministries have suffered greatly by this conjuncture. Our children have had only 9 days of school since school started on September 9th.  It’s very difficult to find and buy food to feed the children and staff.  When we are able to find food, it costs 35% to 50% more than the normal price. Our current amount of support doesn’t allow us to handle the extreme inflation. This situation has been very stressful for Mimi and me.

Our children are all doing well. They are healthy and happy. They are just tired of staying home. The staff and their families are safe and healthy.  Mimi hasn’t been feeling well lately; the current situation in Haiti has affected her health a lot.  She had a doctor’s appointment in Port au Prince early this month, but we couldn’t go because of road blocks.  I thank God for keeping us safe in the mist of this mess.

Please, pray that God will bring peace in Haiti.

Our solar power system hasn’t been working properly for about 8 months because the batteries need to be replaced. Please, pray that we are able to find fuel to run our generator to power the compound. It would be a disaster if we could not power our refrigerator, freezer and security light.

Pray that roads will open so that people who need medical attention can find help.  Also, we haven’t been able to supply our feeding centers with food for about 3 months due to the road blocks and food shortages.

Please, pray for our family and the people we minister to.

Again, thank you for your love and prayers.  May our Lord and Savior keep pouring his blessings on you and your family.

Love, Fenel
